Government policies of Iran  have encouraged public universities to be autonomous and financially capable in supporting their own operations. These changes have an impact on the administrative of all public universities.

 There are few leadership studies in Iran which examined transformational leadership behaviors. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate transformational leadership correlation with student student  in an Iranian context that focus on public leaders in Iranian  universities.

On the basis of the full-range theory of quality management, several hypothesis designed The population in this research was identified as senior leaders of  Tehran university , resulting in 43 individual surveys and students for analysis. Research methodology used in this study is combine quantitative and qualitative approach.
Data were collected in two stages, by means of the Malcom Baldrige and Efqm leadership questionnaires  and student average marks. Qualitative research methodology by using instructed-interviews also was conducted in this research to obtain in-depth data and major information for clearly understanding and describe leadership styles from many level of administration.


 The findings supported the main  hypothesis: there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between the transformational leadership style with student success.

The findings have important implications for leadership practice and future research.
